As this session is for student and staff of the University of Glasgow, please register using your university email address.

With the pandemic making travel to China for research difficult, there is a need to share ideas on alternative ways to conduct interesting and important research. We are delighted that the University of Glasgow has subscribed to the PKULaw database (北大法宝), enabling access to this valuable resource for students and staff across the University.

PKULaw is China’s most authoritative database not just for laws and regulations but for other types of documents useful to anyone researching Chinese policy. It contains documents from 1949 up to the present. This is a database used widely for research by scholars in the PRC across a range of disciplines, including law, politics, public administration, public and social policy, and business. It is primarily a Chinese language database but makes a lot of content available in English.

This introductory session is designed to give students and staff who are new to PKULaw an idea of its potential and an overview of some of its key functions. The session will be mainly in English, with some Chinese.
