Our students recently hosted the SSASC24 in the historic Glasgow University Unions Debates Chamber, on the 17th-18th February 2024, bringing the largest attendance yet. The SSASC engages students from across Scottish academia with the latest research and discoveries in archaeology. The focus on students speakers gives a voice to the freshest takes and methodologies on where the future of the field is heading. There was a wonderful array of excellent talks featured, show-casing the diverse and exciting new research work happening across Scotland.

The conference was a collaborative effort; along side University of Glasgow Archaeology Society were previous hosts, Aberdeen University ArchSoc who organised the raffle and Edinburgh University ArchSoc who ran the Q&A Panel with industry experts. The conference gave massive opportunities for networking with employers and representatives from across the industry with representatives holding stalls.

Overall, the conference was a huge success, thanks to the UoG Archaeology Department for their support and we would recommend every student to get involved and join us in the next one.
