Biography

Dikshyanta joined the Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) team in 2018 after completing her MSc in Health Economics at the University of York. During her MSc, she did a placement at the Mental Health and Addiction Research Group (MHARG) within her university. She obtained an undergraduate degree in BA (Hons) Economics, with Psychology and Sociology as additional subjects, from Christ University, India in 2016. She has more than 6 years of experience working in this field.

Dikshyanta represents our early career researchers (ECRs) in the Scottish Health Economics Early Career (SHEEC) network.

Research interests

Dikshyanta is a mixed methods researcher with a broad range of experience in conducting economic evaluations, linked health data analysis, evidence synthesis, and thematic analysis. Her research focuses on the development and application of HTA methodologies across various health areas, including cardiovascular diseases, learning disabilities, oncology, mental health, and women's health.

Currently, she is primarily involved in the INCISE project, where she applies eHTA concepts and explores the field of precision medicine and translational health economics.

Teaching

Dikshyanta is actively involved in a range of teaching activities within HEHTA.

She co-leads the Health Economics for HTA module in our online MSc HTA programme and lectures in the MSc Precision Medicine course. Additionally, she supervises students in the MSc HTA, Master of Public Health, and MSc Population Health Sciences programmes. She also tutors on our continuous professional development (CPD) courses.

Previously, Dikshyanta has contributed to the development and delivery of our Future Learn micro-credentials course, 'Introduction to Health Economics & Health Technology Assessment'. This course is now a part of our ExpertTrack course, Using Health Technology Assessment in support of Universal Health Coverage.
 
Moreover, she has also developed and delivered courses for the Better Health Programme (BHP) - Philippines, a project funded by the U.K. Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office Prosperity Fund in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and FHI 360.
