Next month's edition of IHW's monthly newsletter, HAWKEYE, will be an Athena Swan special edition, guest edited by our Athena Swan leads Breda Cullen and Cindy Gray, with contributions invited from anyone in IHW with something to share about equality, diversity or inclusion (EDI).

Do get in touch if you have an idea for an article (including about EDI-related research) or would like to be an "IHW voice" and write a more personal or reflective piece about any of the following:

  • Maternity, paternity or carer issues
  • Career development
  • Work/life balance
  • Workplace cultures and behaviour
  • Wellbeing
  • "Belonging" in the workplace or study environment – as an older worker, an LGBTQ+ staff member or student, a disabled person, someone with a visible difference, a member of an ethnic minority, or if you are Deaf/deaf or hard of hearing, for example.

We plan to include an item about the experience of Black, Asian or minority ethnic staff and students in IHW/University of Glasgow. If you would like to contribute to this piece, please contact IHW's ethnicity champion Sarah Amele. (100–200 words would be plenty, reflecting on how you have found working or studying here and what cultural or behavioural changes you would like to see.)

If you would like to discuss an idea for an article, please contact HAWKEYE's editor Jane Goodfellow or send your content direct to IHW Admin. The deadline for contributions is 5.00pm on Monday 18 October 2021
