Photo of Yongmei YangIn April 2019, HEHTA welcomed Yongmei Yang, a lecturer in public health and management at the Wenzhou Medical University of China.

Ms Yang will spend a year at HEHTA learning how to use economic methods to evaluate Chinese population health interventions, and hopes to establish further exchanges and cooperation between HEHTA and Wenzhou Medical University.

Yongmei holds a BA and MS in economics from The Xi'an Jiaotong University and a PhD in Economics (2012) from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economic, China. Yongmei’s research interests are in the area of the application of economic techniques to answer research questions of socio-economic and geographical patterning of health care utilisation and policy. Her PhD and post-doctoral fellowship analysed the health care in non-public health provider. She is involved in a project evaluating public and non-public hospital operating performance in China through the The National Natural Science Fund.
