This study aims to investigate if there is a difference in individuals' cognitive abilities and every day functioning based on different types of experiences during childhood and later adulthood.

We are looking for adults, over the age of 18, English speaking, who have access to Internet to complete questionnaires.

Participants who consent to take part (via an online form) will be asked to complete six short questionnaires, also online, relating to experiences of childhood and adulthood adversity, cognitive functioning and reflective capacity and general mental health.

This research and data collected will be contributing to a greater understanding of the specific impacts of adverse life events on individual’s everyday functioning. These results may help develop psychological interventions to support people who have experienced adverse events in their life and present to mental health services.
