Centre for Robert Burns Studies, University of Glasgow

This will be awarded to a student undertaking a one-year MPhil Research project in the Scottish Literature subject area on any aspect of Robert Burns. Projects might be on poetry, songs, prose, his historical and cultural context, reception, ‘afterlife’, contemporary significance, related authors, or any other suitable topic relating to Burns’s work, life and legacy. 

Applications are made in the normal way to the College of Arts Postgraduate Office, including a research proposal clearly marked ‘CRBS Shaw Scholarship’.

Informal discussion of potential proposals can be entered into with the Co-Directors of the CRBS, Professor Gerard Carruthers or Dr Kirsteen McCue.
