Congratulations to Professor Anna Dominiczak on receiving the ISH Robert Tigerstedt Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is presented biennially, on the recommendation of the ISH Awards Committee to a person, persons or institution responsible for distinguished work relating to the aetiology, epidemiology, pathology or treatment of high blood pressure.

The Awards Committee has appreciated Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak’s lifetime contributions to hypertension research and clinical practice. Since obtaining her first medical degree in 1978, Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak has made substantial and novel contributions to advance research in hypertension, cardiovascular genomics, and precision medicine, where she led major research programmes in the field and has over 500 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Over the years Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak has received recognition from numerous societies globally. Apart from contributions to research, she has also made a major impact on clinical work as shown from her position as President of the Association of Physicians of Great Britian and Ireland (2018-2021).

Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak's leadership in ensuring that the highest quality research in hypertension is published is demonstrated by her role as Editor-in-Chief of Hypertension from 2012-2022.  She has also supervised and mentored numerous upcoming researchers in the field of hypertension. As a result of this, the Society feels that Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak is the ideal choice for this Award. ISH Robert Tigerstedt Award is a way for ISH to thank you for these outstanding contributions.
