An update from Roisin Reilly, Communication Lead, World-Changing Glasgow Transformation Team.

Since launching in September, the UofG Life app (previously known as the timetable app) has been downloaded over 10,000 times.

The app is part of the University’s transformation work to create a Smart Campus. Our aim is to develop a dynamic experience for staff and students across the University’s estate, physically and virtually.

We have developed the UofG Life app to improve the student experience and help connect our campus community. It has been designed and created in partnership with students, who have provided feedback and thoughts on the new features they would like to see. This valuable feedback enabled us to add new features to the app this month.

Students can now

  • Catch up with the latest news
  • Book study space
  • View their class timetable
  • Find their way around campus
  • Locate nearby facilities
  • View library capacity.

There are 59 study spaces across the University that are now available for students to book, with 392 bookings made in the week from 21 to 28 October.

As a member of staff, you can also access some of these app features including maps and library capacity and, if you are an academic member of staff, you can view your teaching timetable too.

Watch this space for some exciting new releases as we improve the app based on feedback and ideas from our University community.

If you haven’t downloaded the app yet or a student asks you for more information, the free app is available via the App Store or Google Play.
