Mentoring is central to our personal development and it has been central to the University’s highly successful Early Career Development Programme (ECDP) since it was launched in 2013. There are now some 520 academic staff on ECDP and each of them should have a mentor. With so many staff involved in sharing expertise and support concerning current and future career plans, it has been a key goal of ECDP for some time to introduce a digital support for Mentoring activity throughout the University.

This digital support is now live, and can be accessed here. It contains information about mentoring, a range of development resources, and the shared experiences of some of our mentors and mentees on the programme. It is available as an online resource to support the mentoring relationship and can also be taken as a development course which will be recorded on HR CORE. It will be useful for all involved on the programme and for other staff engaged in mentoring relationships across the University, including those in professional services.
