We will be re-opening Library Buildings and providing access to physical stock including books over the next two months in a phased way, closely observing Scottish Government and University of Glasgow guidance and principles.

Phased reopening will take place as follows:

From Tuesday, 21 July, we will introduce a Click and Collect service. You will be able to request items through the Library catalogue from 15 July and collect them safely from the Library from 21 July. From 21 July you will also be able to return books. There will be no access past the turnstiles at this stage.

From 3 August postgraduate students will be able to book a study space in the Postgraduate Space of the Library on Level 5. We will provide a Click and Collect service to deliver books to students in that space. The rest of the Library will remain closed and access will not be permitted to the book stacks.

From 24 August, we intend to re-open the Library to all UofG students and staff. Physical distancing arrangements and an enhanced cleaning regime will be in place.

Health and safety checks and risk assessments will be carried out at each stage and details may change subject to updated government guidance.

Using the Library Remotely

Whether or not the Library building is open, you can access Library e-resources remotely at any time. This includes an extensive catalogue of e-books and journals, searchable at UofG Library. You can also make a virtual appointment with your College Librarian, and contact the Reach Out team for help through UofG Helpdesk.
