Glasgow Science Festival 2024

Glasgow Science Festival returned for its 18th year, celebrating how research can transform our lives, our cities, and our futures. Audiences enjoyed a packed programme of over 150 events in 50+ venues across the city. Highlights included our space-themed outdoor cinema, science circus cabaret, a health & wellbeing escape room, a chance to pilot an underwater ROV and our festival special pub quiz. You can see some images from these events in the slideshows below. 

We have kept our popular 'Science on the Sofa' digital programme, so folks from across the world could join us online from the 1st June to 30th June.

Summary image of the statistics from GSF24. 110,259 participants, 84,278 in person & 25,981 online, 199 schools. 135 in person & 29 online events featuring 1,168 activities. 98% of events were free, 110 partner organisations, 56 venues. 10,235 unique visitors from 65 countries to GSF website, 35.5% glasgow, 19.4% rScot, 40.1% rUK, 5.1% rWorld. 929 partner staff & students, 15061 volunteer hours.

A selection of some GSF 24 events

135 in person events across 11 days in June 2023 made up Glasgow Science Festival 2024. Partners from different organisations hosted these events across the city and beyond including: University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde, Kelvin Hall, Glasgow Science Centre, University of the West of Scotland, Boom! Community Arts, Community Circus Paisley and more.
