To deal with the development of the vocabulary, concepts and issues in political thinking from textual analysis of canonical texts.

Timetable

Lectures: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9-10am.
Tutorials: Wednesday 11-12pm, 1-2pm, 2-3pm; Thursday 12-1pm, 1-2pm, 3-4pm, 4-5pm; Friday 9-10, 10-11, 11-12pm, 12-1pm.

Requirements of Entry

Students MUST achieve Grade D3 or better in both of the following courses: Politics 1A, Politics 1B..

Course Aims

To deal with the development of the vocabulary, concepts and issues in political thinking from textual analysis of canonical texts.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of the course students will be able to:
i) to explain the central concepts and arguments contained in the texts covered;

ii) to appraise those concepts and arguments;

iii) to identify the complexities of those concepts and arguments.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Adequate attendance, completion of all summative assessment . Achievement of a minimum of Grade G.
