Course Aims

The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the engineering potential of various advanced engineering materials, processing and relevant design tools.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course the students will be able to:

■ further their knowledge on engineering materials and processing; surface engineering, composite failure and sandwich structural design;

■ assess the applicability of advanced material application to existing engineering products which incorporate conventional materials.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Students must attend the degree examination and submit at least 75% by weight of the other components of the course's summative assessment.
