Assessment
The summative assessment will examine Learning Outcomes from the course and will consist of:
1. 100% 4000-word essay which demonstrates how innovative practice supports curriculum development in two cognate areas as agreed with College tutor. (LOs 1-5)

Course Aims
The course provides students with opportunities to:
*To develop a critical understanding of values, principles and actions in a school setting, particularly in relation to Christian values
*To develop a critical understanding of the process of practitioner enquiry in supporting the development of curriculum, policy and practice
*To develop a critical understanding of their roles as practitioner enquirers in the construction of effective cycles of teaching, learning, assessment and evaluation of children
*To enable students to justify a range of pedagogical strategies through the use of practitioner enquiry and critical reflection
*To develop a sense of professional identity as a practitioner enquirer in order to enable them to operate collaboratively in changing curricular contexts
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate theoretical and practical understandings of practitioner enquiry and its relationship to teaching and learning in the curricular areas
LO2 Demonstrate how practitioner enquiry supports the construction of effective cycles of teaching, learning, assessment and evaluation of children in the curricular areas
LO3 Demonstrate how practitioner enquiry supports development in the curriculum, policy and practice
LO4 Reflect on their developing professional identity as practitioner enquirers in changing professional contexts
LO5 Evaluate strategies for disseminating Christian values throughout the curriculum
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
To receive credit for this course, students must complete and submit all summative assessments, at least 75% of formative assessments and attend at least 80% of all classes. [All components of the course must be passed at D3 or above.]
