Course Aims

This course aims to analyze some of the main social and developmental problems facing less developed countries and possible policy responses.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

The learning outcomes of this course are to:

 

1. gain a knowledge and understanding of some of the main social and economic problems confronting less developed countries;

2. provide a basis for formulating alternative policy responses; and

3. acquire an understanding of the limitations of different policies and the importance of specific country conditions.

4. Work collaboratively in groups to produce an output relating to development policy.

Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits

Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
