The Graduate School’s second Science Slam takes place on Friday 9th May 2014 at Cottiers and we are delighted that it’s a ‘sell-out’ event.

Eight of our talented PhD students will be presenting their research. From the materials of the future, to saving the world (more than once), to embodying evolution, it’s clear that our students are not scared of thinking big (even when they are talking about tiny thing you can’t even see)!

We are delighted to welcome back our accomplished, more than quite funny host Sian Bevan and to be lucky enough for our event to feature Glasgow-based performer, Ela Orleans (Ela’s EPs are released on Warp in May and she has scored a number of films).

The event is a chance for our students to convey their research in an accessible, sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, sometimes odd way. We hope that they live up to the very high standards set by their predecessors. Follow us on twitter for live updates.
