The Museum of Fine Arts Boston has announced Michelle Millar Fisher (MA 2004, MPhil 2008) as its new curator of contemporary decorative arts.

The head of the MFA’s department of contemporary art, Reto Thüring, said in a statement, “Michelle is a brilliant curator, a dedicated teacher and scholar, and an emphatic community builder. She will bring the vision, energy and collaborative spirit to Boston and the MFA that will help write an exciting next chapter for contemporary decorative art, craft and design.”

Previously, Fisher served as curator of European decorative arts and design at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
