Doctoral Scholarships in Arts & Humanities 

Applications are now open for 2023 Doctoral scholarships with the College of Arts. 

Award type: Funded PhD studentship 

PhD start date: 1 October 2023 

Application deadline: Monday 28th November 2022, 12 noon (GMT) 

These fully funded PhD studentships are provided through the Scottish Graduate School of Arts & Humanities (SGSAH), Doctoral Training Partnership. The awards are open to UK, EU and international students, comprising of tuition fees, an annual stipend at UKRI standard rate, and a doctoral training programme (restrictions may apply, please see eligibility and guidance notes).

Awards are open to new applicants (home, EU and international) and continuing PhD students who will have completed less than 50% of their PhD by 1 October 2022. This year the College of Arts has priority funds available from its College Scholarship scheme to support applicants who fall under one of the University of Glasgow's Widening Participation criteria.

Funded PhD's in Archaeology

Two funded PhD opportunities are available in the University of Glasgow's Archaeology department. 

The archaeology and ecology of nutritional and medicinal plants from pre-agrarian contexts: distribution, functional traits and biochemical properties
